With very low interest rates given to certificate of deposits; if you’re like me, you are scrambling to find other reasonably safe investments. There isn’t much available, is there? A good alternative is to select a mutual fund that has an average or low risk with an above average return and a large distribution.

How to find mutual funds that fulfill this criteria is a challenge.  It is easy to find mutual funds that are low risk; but, finding mutual funds that also have a high return and makes hefty distribution isn’t quite that easy. There are mutual funds with a 3 year “average” return of 14% or more and distributed 4% or more income and/or capital gains and the risk is average or low.

LargeDividends.com has just updated its data bank and reports a list of 22 successful mutual funds that ended the 2011 with very positive performance gains. Each page on the Website provides individuals, like yourself, with factual, unique and valuable information that reveals a clear insight on these types of mutual funds. Best news is there is no obligation, no hidden surprises.  Isn’t that what your looking for?

Hello world!

King A. Kovacs is the founder of Mutual Interest Data Service, Ltd.  Before establishing the business, back in the early 90′s, King searched for mutual funds that had average or low risk with an above average return and healthy distribution of large dividends.  After several years of burning the midnight oil, and analyzing thousands of mutual funds; he established and built an investment portfolio.  But, he wanted the portfolio to grow in the long-term for himself and his family.  Not having a financial advisor, he achieved his objectives with perseverance.  Realizing other individuals could also benefit from a Website with this kind of important information, King than created LargeDividends.com with a data bank of 1,000 mutual funds that met his criteria.

In 2000 he was granted permission (reference file No. 137-1) by the staff of the Securities and Exchange Commission’s Division of Investment Management to operate an Internet Website (www.largedividends.com).  Through the Website, customers can order a Mutual Fund Five-Year Analysis report on various investment categories prepared by the Company.  These exclusive  reports were issued a Copyright Certificate of Registration.

Ticker Symbol – wealth of investment data

A ticker symbol (unique 4 alpha digits assigned to a mutual fund) ends with “X”, e.g. Profitable Growth Mutual Fund – PGMFX. In this example, PGMFX is your key to a wealth of information.

Most search engine finance pages will provide valuable data on investing in a mutual fund when you enter the ticker symbol in the quotes search box. Here is a sample of the information provided:

Profile

This would include all pertinent data of the fund such as the fund family, address, phone number, investment category, date of inception, net assets value, fund manager, etc.

Purchase & Expense

The purchase information would include the net asset value minimum investment, minimum IRA purchase, maximum sales load, 12b1 fee, management fee, etc.

Net Asset Value (NAV) The net asset value is the current market value of the mutual fund’s holdings (stocks/bonds) per share. The market value of a fund is also referred to as share price. A mutual fund’s nav/share price is reduced by the amount of distribution.

Performance The Performance of mutual funds is based on the daily net asset value change. When the change is more or less than the value of the nav, the percent of performance is either a gain or loss. The share price does not change until after the close of the market. The performance can be short-term two years or less and long-term 3 years or more.

Total Return

The return of a mutual fund includes the dividend distribution of income and/or capital gains and the performance. The dividends and interest earned by a mutual fund on its investment is the income. The income distribution is quarterly. The capital gains can be either a gain or loss. December is the month when most mutual funds declare distribution of income and/or capital gains. On the trade date, the share price (nav)is decreased by the same amount as the distribution. If, for example, a 10% distribution was given shareholders; the net asset value of the mutual fund would be reduced 10%
